Lip Blush Pre-Appointment Instructions
Important information
To help ensure the best possible results, please follow these instructions before your appointment:
- If you are prone to cold sores or fever blisters: Begin taking your prescribed antiviral medication (such as Valtrex®) 24 hours before your appointment, as directed by your healthcare provider. Lip blush procedures can trigger a cold sore outbreak, and taking medication beforehand significantly reduces this risk.
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated lips help support a smoother procedure and optimal healing.
- Exfoliate your lips: Gently exfoliate your lips 48 hours before your appointment using a lip scrub, then apply a nourishing lip mask or treatment to keep them soft and moisturized.
- Lip fillers: If you have recently had lip filler or plan to, allow at least 2 weeks between your filler appointment and your lip blush procedure.
- For 24 hours before your appointment, please avoid:
- Alcohol
- Caffeine
- Aspirin
- Ibuprofen
- Fish oil supplements
- Niacin
- Vitamin E supplements
